NSCDC Enhances Border Security with Armed Personnel Deployment

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken a crucial step in fortifying the security of Nigeria’s borders by deploying fully armed tactical personnel to oversee the border with the Niger Republic, specifically through Katsina State.

Mr Jamilu Indabawa, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, made this revelation during a courtesy visit from the new Katsina Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr Muhammad Umar.

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration among security agencies, Indabawa stated that the deployment of these personnel is a testament to the commitment of the NSCDC to ensuring the security and safety of the people.

Expressing appreciation for the existing partnership between the two agencies, Indabawa pledged to continue working closely with the customs service, particularly in the areas of intelligence gathering and joint operations.

In a similar vein, Umar stressed the need for increased synergy in joint operations, intelligence sharing, and border drills, emphasizing the vast geographical area of the state and the significance of collaborative efforts in maintaining border security.

He reiterated that the NCS alone cannot effectively cover the extensive terrain, highlighting the NSCDC’s pivotal role with its widespread presence across the state, even in the most remote locations.
