Tinubu Mourns the Passing of Former Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Chris Alli

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Major-General Chris Alli, a distinguished former Chief of Army Staff who served between 1993 and 1994.

President Bola Tinubu, in a heartfelt statement released by his Special Adviser, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, expressed deep sorrow at the loss, describing it as a profound tragedy for the nation.

Tinubu conveyed his condolences to the Alli family and the Nigerian Army, acknowledging the late General’s unwavering and dedicated service to the country.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the Alli family and the Nigerian Army as we mourn the former Chief of Army Staff. He served his country with great distinction and retired with honour,” expressed the President.

“May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest and provide his family with the strength to cope with this immense loss,” Tinubu added.

Major-General Alli’s illustrious career in the Nigerian Army included holding pivotal positions such as Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) before his appointment as Chief of Army Staff.
