David Dein Criticizes Mikel Arteta’s Conduct, Expresses Concern for Arsenal’s Image

David Dein, a former Arsenal executive, has raised concerns about the impact of manager Mikel Arteta’s recent behavior on the club’s reputation.

Dein’s comments come in the wake of Arteta’s heated reaction to Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League earlier this month, a match marred by VAR controversy.

The pivotal moment of the game was Anthony Gordon’s goal, which stood despite undergoing three separate VAR reviews.

Following the match, Arteta publicly expressed his fury, branding the decision to allow the goal as an ‘absolute disgrace’.

However, Dein has voiced disapproval of Arteta’s response, stating on TalkSPORT, “They lost due to a controversial VAR incident, but in life, some decisions work in your favour while others do not. It’s essential to accept both.”

“There is a systematic process for handling these issues, and I believe Arteta’s outburst was uncalled for. It did not reflect positively on the club’s image,” Dein emphasized.
