Former President Muhammadu Buhari has refuted allegations of his administration being controlled by cabals, dismissing the notion as a mere figment of imagination by Nigerians.
During his recent interview on Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Buhari addressed the allegations, stating, “It must have been their imagination.”
Furthermore, Buhari revealed that his primary focus has been on addressing domestic issues, stating, “I am so preoccupied with the local problems that I hardly think about the external problems.”
Throughout his tenure, there were widespread assertions of influential cabals in the Presidency, purportedly making significant decisions on Buhari’s behalf. These individuals were reported to include some of his close relatives and a former trusted aide.
In 2017, former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, referred to the cabals in the Presidency as “Hyenas and Jackals” seeking to undermine her husband’s administration.
