‘PDP crisis affecting development in Rivers’ – APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concern over the disconnection between the people of the state and the government, following the political instability that has rocked Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s administration.

In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Darlington Nwauju, APC noted that the political crisis in the state has weakened the government’s policies due to the inaction of the administration in the face of increasing poverty in society.

“Rivers people cannot accept the excuse of political distractions for failing to work assiduously to reduce insecurity and unemployment and provide improved access to education, clean drinking water, and electricity,” the party stated.

Rivers APC further said: “The shenanigans of political crises cannot be enough reason to abandon our people in the dungeon of poverty and cannot be an excuse.

“The governor must come up with a clear development agenda and an actionable plan of execution that can justify the hundreds of billions of naira the state gets in one year. On this note, we urge you [Gov Fubara] to get up, sit up, and get cracking.”
