Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Applauds Maguire and McTominay for Defying Ten Hag’s Predictions

Former manager of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has commended Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay for proving the current boss, Erik ten Hag, wrong. The duo has demonstrated resilience and impressive performances despite facing doubts from their current manager.

During the summer, Maguire seemed poised to depart from Old Trafford after Ten Hag relieved him of the captaincy. Speculation linked the English defender with a move to West Ham; however, a consensus was not reached among the concerned parties. Despite facing challenges in terms of playing time under Ten Hag, Maguire has displayed several commendable performances leading up to the international break.

Solskjaer shared his admiration, stating, “I think he has dealt with it in a fantastic way… I am very happy that Harry in particular shows what kind of player he is, but not least what kind of type and person he is. That’s why I made him captain. We in Norway call it ‘hell wood.’”

Additionally, Solskjaer lauded McTominay, who also faced potential departure from United during the summer transfer window.

“I knew they had it in them, and I think it’s these types of people who get paid for their efforts and get paid back for what kind of people they are,” Solskjaer emphasized.

Both Maguire and McTominay have showcased their mettle, disproving Ten Hag’s initial verdict and proving their worth on the pitch, much to the surprise of many.
