Abia Community Raises Alarm Over Suspected Bomb, Seeks Government Intervention

The residents of Ala Imenyi autonomous community in Lomara, Umunnochi Local Government Area of Abia State, have issued a distress call to the Abia State Government following the discovery of a suspicious object believed to be a bomb.

During their recent meeting with Hon. Mathias Umeh, the representative of Umunnochi constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, the community leaders, including their traditional ruler, HRH Eze Luke Uchechukwu, and the President General, John Ejiofor, expressed their concerns and alerted the government about the potential bomb threat.

In addition to reporting the alarming discovery, the residents also conveyed their appreciation to the new administration of Governor Alex Otti for implementing effective security measures that have contributed to mitigating the previously prevalent insecurity issues within their lands. They emphasized the need for sustained efforts to combat criminal activities, particularly banditry.

Furthermore, the community leaders appealed to the state government for the implementation of more developmental projects in their area to enhance progress and prosperity.

Assuring the community of his support, Hon. Umeh pledged to relay their report to the Abia State Government, underscoring the importance of prompt and appropriate action in response to the bomb scare.

Reflecting on the strides made in addressing security challenges, Umeh commended Governor Otti’s administration for its swift response to the previous insecurity issues in Umunnochi, assuring the residents that the government remains committed to preventing incidents of kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal activities across the region.
