Ian Wright Expresses Sympathy for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has expressed empathy for Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson, stating that he believes the Senegalese international is feeling nervous. Wright also commented on Mykhailo Mudryk’s underwhelming performance since joining the Blues.

Wright shared his thoughts on Jackson’s current state during the Wrighty’s House podcast, noting the player’s apparent lack of composure and consistency despite scoring seven goals in 18 appearances across all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.

“I feel sorry for Jackson. He is nowhere near the level to the point where you can see it, you can see it. He is nervous, he’s scared, he’s worried because he’s not near it. Mudryk, he’s still playing exactly how I saw a couple of videos of him when he’s doing his stuff, running 100 miles an hour, not slowing down,” Wright expressed.

Nicolas Jackson made the move to the English Premier League west London club from Spanish La Liga club Villarreal ahead of the 2023-24 season.
