APC group accuses Yobe chairman of misappropriating 2023 election funds

A group known as Yobe APC Mandate has taken a bold step by raising allegations against the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, regarding the alleged misappropriation and diversion of funds earmarked for the 2023 presidential election. The petition, addressed to the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and signed by the group’s chairman, Comrade Mal Yusuf Mam, outlines their concerns.

Among the allegations, it was claimed that Gadaka has not convened a meeting of the state executive committee and state working committee for over a year. Additionally, the petition accused him of engaging in anti-party activities during the last presidential election, ultimately leading to the victory of the opposition party, PDP, in the state.

The petition highlighted a multitude of concerns surrounding Gadaka’s leadership, emphasizing the absence of essential leadership qualities, sense of judgment, and reconciliation needed to foster unity among party members within the state. Furthermore, the petition pointed out what the group sees as a lack of the minimum educational qualification required for the role, according to the APC Constitution.

Notably, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the party has received a copy of the petition, signifying the escalation of the matter within the party’s hierarchy. Despite these grave allegations, efforts to obtain a response from Gadaka regarding the issues raised in the petition have been unsuccessful at the time of this report.

The allegations, if proven true, could have far-reaching implications not only within the Yobe APC but also on the party’s preparations for the upcoming 2023 elections. As this story develops, the eyes of the party faithful and political observers will undoubtedly be keenly focused on the unfolding events in Yobe State.
