The Confederation of African Football, CAF, is experiencing a deluge of interest, having received an astonishing 5,000+ media accreditation applications for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. This figure has surged far beyond the numbers received for the event in Cameroon two years ago.

Media accreditation closed on November 24, leaving CAF to grapple with the enormity of this unprecedented response. The influx of applications, representing over 70 nationalities, exemplifies the global allure and significance of Africa’s premier football spectacle.

As a result of the overwhelming demand, CAF has found it imperative to enforce quotas for all countries, reflecting the pressing space constraints. In a bid to prioritize representation, hosting nations will receive 30% of the allocation, participating countries 35%, regional (neighboring) nations 10%, and the rest of the world 25%.
