The FCT Police Force Prepares for Holiday Season with Increased Security Measures

The police force in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is gearing up for the holiday season with a significant deployment of personnel and resources to safeguard the lives and property of residents. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this vital information, emphasizing the strategic placement of personnel for visible policing at places of worship and event centers across the FCT.

Highlighting the scope of the deployment, SP Adeh mentioned that the efforts would encompass targeted operations such as raids on identified black spots, uncompleted buildings, and shanties, as well as the implementation of stop-and-search measures, vehicular and foot patrols, and enhanced inter-agency cooperation. These comprehensive efforts are designed to ensure a secure and joyful festive period for residents of the FCT, safeguarding their well-being before, during, and after the Christmas celebration.

Furthermore, Commissioner of Police Haruna Garba urged FCT residents to refrain from using fireworks, emphasizing the potential for these items to cause panic or unrest in the territory. This cautionary measure aligns with the overarching goal of maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for all. SP Adeh also called upon residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police through designated hotlines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883.

With these proactive security measures and the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies, the FCT is poised to celebrate the festive season in an atmosphere of safety and tranquility.
