Rangers’ head coach, Philippe Clement, has expressed satisfaction with the notable transformation in Cyriel Dessers’ performance since taking charge of the Light Blues. Dessers, who encountered initial challenges following his high-profile move from Italian club Cremonese in the summer, has shown a marked improvement, scoring four goals in his last eight league appearances for the Gers.
The 29-year-old Nigerian striker further showcased his prowess by netting a spectacular goal in Rangers’ exhilarating 3-2 triumph over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League. He also made a significant contribution by featuring for the entire 90 minutes as Rangers secured their 24th Scottish League Cup title with a gritty 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.
“I don’t look at transfer windows from the past. My job is to get the best out of the players that are there,” remarked Clement, as cited by Rangers Review. “Cyriel Dessers is improving; he scored last weekend and also on Thursday against Betis. It is my job to make choices, together with the board, on what we should do in January to strengthen the core.”
