Mayorkun Vows to Never Perform in Calabar Again After Robbery Incident

Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has made a solemn declaration never to grace the stage in Calabar, the enchanting capital of Cross River State, ever again.

This announcement unfolded on his X (formerly Twitter) page on a tranquil Tuesday morning, with Mayorkun conveying his well-wishes to fellow artists scheduled to perform in the city. In his own words, he expressed, “Calabar, You’ll probably never ever see me again, good luck to the other artists coming for your festivals tho.”

Mayorkun, who recently delivered a mesmerizing performance in Calabar, has reportedly fallen victim to a robbery, as revealed by concerned fans who engaged in the comment section of his post. Shockingly, some fans disclosed that the singer’s multi-million naira necklace was snatched from him during his time in Calabar.

In response to this disheartening incident, singer Iyanya has stepped forward to address the alleged robbery of his colleague, Mayorkun, in Calabar. He took to social media to implore the perpetrator to return the stolen item, offering to personally compensate the individual for their actions. Quoting Mayorkun’s tweet, he emphasized, “My Calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother, please return it and I will personally compensate you. Drop it at The Grand Hotel. I will personally compensate you please.”

The shocking turn of events has caused ripples of concern throughout the industry, prompting a fervent plea for the restoration of trust and security within the vibrant streets of Calabar.
