In a statement, Paul Bassey emphasized that the club is adopting a meticulous approach in the selection process, underscoring the need for thorough consideration before the appointment of a new coach. “We have received numerous applications from both domestic and foreign candidates, and we are committed to conducting a comprehensive evaluation as we move forward. At present, the assistant coaches, under the leadership of Umar Abdullahi, are overseeing the team,” expressed Bassey through the club’s media platform.
Akwa United’s current standing at the 17th position on the NPFL table underscores the urgency of finding a capable leader to steer the club towards a more favorable position in the league.
