Over 50 Kidnap Victims Rescued by Troops in Sokoto State

In a significant victory against terrorism, troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, successfully rescued 52 kidnapped victims in a well-coordinated operation in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The Army’s official statement reported that this operation was part of a series of clearance operations to combat terrorists in their Areas of Responsibility. The particular success occurred on December 22, 2023, when the troops cleared and destroyed terrorist enclaves at Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA.

During this strategic offensive, the OPHD troops not only neutralized several terrorists but also rescued 52 individuals who had been kidnapped. Among the rescued victims were 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children. These individuals will undergo medical check-ups, debriefing, and subsequent handover to the appropriate authorities for reunion with their families.

This rescue operation stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian troops in the fight against terrorism, bringing hope and relief to the affected families and communities.
