Chelsea Manager Pochettino Emphasizes Importance of Nkunku and Relieves Pressure

In a recent development, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has underscored the significance of Christopher Nkunku to the club, following his inaugural Premier League goal for the Blues during the Christmas Eve clash versus Wolves. Pochettino has emphasized that the young Frenchman does not need to bear excessive pressure, especially considering his limited appearances for Chelsea this season.

It’s noteworthy that Nkunku’s goal, though a commendable achievement, did not suffice as Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat at Molineux. The hosts’ goals were delivered by Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty, overshadowing Nkunku’s striking feat.

During the post-match press conference, Pochettino expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I’m very pleased to see Nkunku score, and it shows how important he can be for us. We cannot put too much pressure on him; he’s been out for a very long time, and that is why he came on after 60 minutes—to help ease him in. He’s a quality player who can score goals, and we are pleased he did that today, although of course we are disappointed not to win the game.”
