The Kaduna State Police Command recently made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of two individuals believed to be responsible for the theft of a generator and a solar battery from a mosque in Kaduna. Mr. Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer, disclosed that the detectives acted upon reliable intelligence leading to the apprehension of Basiru Rabiu, one of the prime suspects, in the Sabon Gari area of Hunkuyi Local Government Area.
The suspect’s behavior around the mosque raised suspicions, ultimately leading to his arrest. During questioning, Rabiu admitted to the theft, revealing that he had stolen the generator and solar battery from mosques in Hunkuyi and Nahuce villages. Furthermore, he confessed to selling the stolen items to an individual identified as Mansir Umar, who was subsequently apprehended by the authorities.
In addition to the successful arrests, the police recovered several pieces of evidence, with the investigation currently underway. Mr. Hassan emphasized that the culprits will face prosecution following the completion of the investigation.
