Xavi Issues Ultimatum to Barcelona Players: Support Me or I’ll Leave

In a bold statement, Barcelona’s manager, Xavi Hernandez, has made it clear that he is ready to walk away if his players lose faith in him. The warning comes after a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final and Barcelona’s current fourth-place position in LaLiga, trailing eight points behind the league leaders, Girona.

“I love this club. I’m here to bring something to it. If I don’t do it, I’ll go home,” Xavi expressed. He continued, emphasizing the pivotal role of support from his players, stating, “The day my players no longer follow me, I’ll pack my bags and leave. When someone tells me there’s a problem, I’ll leave.”

Xavi’s determination to uplift Barcelona was palpable as he acknowledged the significance of his past achievements, stating, “If I hadn’t won La Liga last year I wouldn’t be here.” He returned to the Camp Nou in November 2021, orchestrating an impressive climb from ninth to second place that season and ultimately securing the title in his first full campaign in charge in 2022-23.

His words ring with an unwavering commitment to the club’s success, setting a clear ultimatum for the team. Xavi’s resolve and dedication amplify the stakes for both himself and the Barcelona players, creating an atmosphere of accountability and determination within the club.
