Kelechi Iheanacho Declares Fitness for AFCON 2023 Debut

In an exclusive revelation, Kelechi Iheanacho has announced his full readiness to take the field at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.

Delaying his arrival at the tournament due to receiving treatment for a muscle injury at his club, Leicester City, the 27-year-old Nigerian striker finally joined his national team on the eve of their opening match against Equatorial Guinea in Abidjan.

Although he started as a substitute in the initial games against Equatorial Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire, Iheanacho is brimming with anticipation for his debut at the championship against Guinea-Bissau next Monday.

“I’m hundred per cent fit at the moment. I’m good to go,” Iheanacho confidently declared during a media interaction in Abidjan. “I was lucky that it was just a Grade A muscle injury.”

With his assurance of fitness, Nigerian supporters and football enthusiasts eagerly await the potential impact of the talented forward as he gears up to represent the Super Eagles on the continental stage.
