Whoopi Goldberg is over the “snub” talk about this year’s Academy Awards, and she’s not being shy about shutting it down.

The View cohost addressed the backlash that was a result of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig failing to garner nominations for their acting and directing, respectively, on the smash blockbuster Barbie, which Ryan Gosling—who was nominated for his role as Ken, despite it being “the girl movie,” as Joy Behar put it—even called out.

“[I’m] bummed over the Greta snub,” Alyssa Farah Griffin, like many of the rest of us, agreed during Jan. 24’s episode. “I just think that Greta Gerwig is brilliant. She’s, luckily, been nominated for one before, but I think that she was taking on something so important, and it does kind of feel like the message of the film was sort of missed in it.”

But Goldberg doesn’t believe they’re “snubs,” with the EGOT winner stating bluntly, “Here’s the deal: Everybody doesn’t win!”

“You know about the snubs!” Sunny Hostin tried to point out, but Goldberg, who won Best Supporting Actress for Ghost, disagreed that they were “snubs” at all.

“That’s what I want to point out,” she emphasized. “It’s not the elites — it’s the entire family of the Academy who vote for Best Picture nominations. We all vote for Best Picture, everybody,” she went on. “So there are seven to 10 nominations that happen, and you don’t get everything that you want to get.”

She continued, “There are no snubs, and that’s what you have to keep in mind: Not everybody gets a prize. The movies you love may not be loved by the people who are voting.”

But Griffin believes “they miss[ed] the whole moral of the story of Barbie,” adding, “Of course we celebrate just Ken and not the woman who is the lead it in and the icon in it?”

It poses an interesting idea for a sequel: “Barbie goes to Hollywood and is snubbed by the elites who chose Ken over her. So just throwing that out there for an idea,” she joked.

‘The View’ cohosts couldn’t stop chatting about each other’s looks on Thursday’s episode — here’s what they had to say

It’s not an episode of The View if its cohosts aren’t discussing each other’s fashion choices.

During Thursday’s episode of the hit talk show, Whoopi Goldberg took notice of Alyssa Farah Griffin’s look of the day: a periwinkle dress made of floral lace. “You’re being very transparent this morning,” Goldberg joked.

Griffin, though, corrected her, noting that the dress wasn’t actually see-through, Joy Behar also clarifying that the material was’t exposing Griffin’s skin.

“How do we know? But it looks like it’s her body!” Goldberg responded.

“Got to leave them guessing,” Griffin responded coyly, before admitting that she did layer Spanx under her dress.

Goldberg relented and finally said, “Well, alright. It’s gorgeous. But it was surprising.”

This then led to another conversation about Behar’s Gucci dress, which she recalled, was bought at a “big discount” during a sample sale shopping trip with Sunny Hostin. “I was stalking a woman,” she joked, remembering the way she eyed the designer item in the store.

“Y’all look good! Y’all are very good-looking today! Not that you’re not everyday,” Goldberg said complimenting her friends and coworkers.

They all agreed with Behar in that they looked “popping.”

Fashion has been a hot topic on the show before.

Back in October, the group jokingly roasted Hostin for her leopard-print jumpsuit and long ponytail, mistaking her for a member of the Cats ensemble.

“Sunny’s doing the road company of Cats,” teased Behar, who once had her own iconic on-the-air style moment when she wore her brown suit from 2004 almost two decades later. “She’s full leopard, all the way down. Advertised like Meow Mix.”
