Arsenal’s Potential Transfer: Silvestre Questions Osimhen’s Upgrade to Gabriel Jesus

Mikael Silvestre, a former Arsenal star, has cast doubt on the prospect of Victor Osimhen being a significant improvement over Gabriel Jesus for the team. As Arsenal seeks a new number nine, Silvestre expressed reservations about Osimhen’s potential impact, highlighting his differences with Jesus in playing style.

Amid heightened calls for Arsenal to bolster their attacking prowess, Silvestre questioned the suitability of Osimhen, currently with Napoli, as a replacement for Jesus. The latter has faced criticism for his goal-scoring performance this season. Linked with both Osimhen and Ivan Toney from Brentford, Arsenal’s pursuit of a new striker has become a subject of intense speculation.

Silvestre emphasized that while Osimhen is undoubtedly a top player, he possesses a more pragmatic approach in front of goal compared to Gabriel Jesus. However, Silvestre suggested that Osimhen’s narrower positioning on the field sets him apart from Jesus. Despite acknowledging the importance of a prolific goal-scoring striker, Silvestre commended Jesus for his diverse offensive contributions to Arsenal’s gameplay.
