Nollywood Actor Lekan Olatunji’s Sacrifice: Selling Cars to Save Late Wife from Cancer

Nigerian actor Lekan Olatunji recently revealed that he made the difficult decision to sell his two cars in a desperate attempt to save his late wife from cancer. Speaking on the ‘Talk to B’ show with actress Biola Bayo, Olatunji disclosed the heartbreaking journey that ultimately led to the loss of his wife in 2023.

According to Olatunji, the cancer had gone unnoticed until a medical check-up revealed that it had already spread to his wife’s spinal cord, leaving her paralyzed. Despite the initial misdiagnosis and the minimal discomfort she felt, the cancer had taken a devastating toll on her body.

To save her, Olatunji faced the staggering cost of two urgent surgeries totaling N12.5 million. In a selfless act, he sold his two cars for N4 million, despite being cheated by the dealer. The first surgery in Lagos cost around N7.8 million, but tragically, his wife passed away after fighting for two weeks.

Olatunji’s emotional account serves as a poignant reminder of the harrowing impact of cancer and the profound sacrifices made in the battle against this relentless disease.
