PDP Wins State Assembly Seat In Sokoto

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a significant victory as the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the outcome of the Bodinga North state constituency rerun election in Sokoto State.

Professor Farouk Tambuwal, the returning officer for the court-ordered rerun election, declared Magaji Abubakar of the PDP as the winner with a total of 6,488 votes. His closest opponent, Yusuf Marafa Danchadi of the All Progressive Congress, garnered 5,893 votes.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Tambuwal officially declared Magaji Abubakar as the winner, stating, “Having satisfied the requirements of the law, Magaji Abubakar of the PDP is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

It’s worth noting that the court of appeals had previously declared the election in Bodinga Constituency inconclusive, prompting the rerun in five polling units within the constituency.
