Controversy at O2 Arena: Asake Shut Down Mid-Concert, Says Carter Efe

Nigerian skit maker turned artist, Carter Efe, has unveiled shocking details about Grammy-nominated singer Asake’s concert at London’s O2 Arena. During a recent episode of the Spill With Phyna Podcast, Efe expressed dismay at the mistreatment of Nigerian creatives by Western music executives and show promoters.

Efe revealed that during Asake’s performance last year, the O2 Arena’s management abruptly turned off the lights, effectively chasing Asake off the stage. “Westerners treat us anyhow, and we still go back to them. They put off the lights. I’m not lying,” Efe stated. The revelation prompted host Phyna to suggest that Nigerian artists should unite and organize concerts within the country. However, Efe dismissed this idea, citing Nigeria’s lack of facilities to host such large-scale events.
