Big Brother Naija sensation Mercy Eke has divulged the reason behind her decision to keep her romantic life out of the spotlight, citing past mistakes as the driving force.
In a recent interview on the Celebrity Quickies series hosted on comedian AY’s YouTube channel, Eke confessed that she has found love again but has opted to keep her new partner’s identity under wraps.
“I choose to keep my dating life private. I have learned from past mistakes of sharing everything on social media. This part of my life is now very private,” said Eke.
The reality star further disclosed that she cherishes her privacy but admitted that she cannot go a day without speaking to her mystery sweetheart.
Eke highlighted the immense pressure faced by Nigerian celebrities, emphasizing that much of this pressure stems from their immediate circles, despite the industry’s ongoing evolution.
Earlier this year, Mercy Eke and her fellow reality star, Pere Egbi, clarified rumors of a romantic involvement, dispelling speculations sparked by their on-screen chemistry during the Big Brother Naija All Stars reality show.
It is worth noting that Mercy had previously been in a relationship with her BBNaija co-star, Ike, which commenced during the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition in 2019 but ended shortly after the show’s conclusion.
