Nollywood Actor Kanayo O Kanayo Warns Igbos Against Protest Amid Economic Hardship

In the midst of Nigeria’s economic difficulties, renowned Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo issued a cautionary message to the Igbo community regarding the upcoming nationwide protest against the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu.

The veteran actor conveyed his warning in a widely circulated video on his official Instagram account, addressing the prevailing economic challenges in the country. Kanayo emphasized that Igbos often find themselves targeted in various situations in Nigeria, underscoring the importance for Ndigbo to align themselves with Davido’s song “I’m unavailable.”

Acknowledging the unfortunate economic crisis, Kanayo pointed out that if Igbos are not deemed fit for leadership roles in Nigeria, they should also abstain from participating in protests. He highlighted the universal nature of hunger, noting that it transcends religious boundaries and affects everyone regardless of faith.

Expressing concern over the prevalent hardships, Kanayo stressed the need for caution within the Igbo community, emphasizing the importance of self-protection. He urged Igbos to refute the notion that they are incapable of holding leadership positions by demonstrating that they are not inclined towards engaging in protests either.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo socio-cultural organization, echoed similar sentiments through its President General, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, advising Igbo youths to exercise restraint amid the planned nationwide protest.
