Jerry Uzosike Resigns from PDP, Joins Labour Party in Abia State

Jerry Uzosike, a prominent figure in Abia State politics, has made a bold move by resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joining the ruling Labour Party (LP) in the state. This decision comes after a meeting with Governor Alex Otti, where Uzosike pledged his support for the governor and his vision for a new Abia.

As a former House of Assembly member and LGA Chairman, Uzosike’s defection signifies a shift in the political landscape of Abia State. In a statement to his supporters, he expressed his belief in Governor Otti’s leadership and his commitment to building a new Abia.

“I am a man of a new Abia. There is no way I will remain in old Abia when we have a new Abia,” Uzosike declared, highlighting his dedication to supporting the current administration and its initiatives. His decision to join the LP has sparked speculation that more opposition party members in Abia may follow suit.

Uzosike’s announcement was met with surprise by some of his supporters and fellow PDP members, underscoring the significance of his defection. To celebrate his new political affiliation, Uzosike hosted a gathering at a popular hotel in Umuahia, where he shared his reasons for joining the LP and encouraged others to join him in this new chapter.

With Uzosike’s move to the Labour Party, the political landscape in Abia State is poised for change. His decision reflects a growing momentum towards a new era in Abia politics, guided by Governor Alex Otti’s leadership and vision for the state’s future.
