Seyi Awolowo, a Nigerian actor and reality television celebrity, has stated that it is okay for gospel artists to charge before agreeing to play at religious gatherings.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate challenged them to monetize their songs since, despite their chosen career, they had duties to consider.
Seyi Awolowo expressed this in a recent Hip TV interview when asked if gospel artists should be compensated for their abilities.
He said, “If you got a talent, you gotta make your money. So because of religion, someone shouldn’t get paid? We need to knock that mindset out. We literally need to take out that sentiment.
“Let’s actually build on ourselves. If you have a talent if you can monetise it the right way, do so. You need to sell your talent.”
Seyi Awolowo was born on December 28, 1989, in his hometown in Ogun State. He is an entrepreneur, medical doctor, talent recruiter, actor, MC/TV host, and model.
The Big Brother Naija Reality TV former housemate, had revealed that he might follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, late Obafemi Awolowo, a Nigerian nationalist and statesman who played a key role in Nigeria’s independence movement.
