IPMAN President Foresees Fuel Price Drop with Port Harcourt Refinery Operations

The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, has announced a potential decrease in the price of petrol in the near future. This news comes as the Port Harcourt refinery is set to become operational, allowing marketers to start loading fuel from there.

During a meeting with Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Maigandi expressed optimism about the upcoming changes. He emphasized that independent petroleum marketers have been instructed to prepare for loading, particularly in the South-South region where the refinery is located.

Maigandi highlighted the benefits of the refinery’s operations, including a possible reduction in fuel prices and increased availability of products. He also noted that the refinery’s opening will lead to job creation for Nigerians, a development that IPMAN welcomes.

Overall, the news of the potential price reduction and operational commencement of the Port Harcourt refinery has been met with enthusiasm by IPMAN and its members. As they eagerly await the start of loading and production, they anticipate positive changes in the industry in the coming weeks.
