Rivers Police Seize IEDs and Arms from Cultists in Diobu, Port Harcourt

The Police Command in Rivers state has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against cult-related violence, seizing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), arms, and ammunition from suspected cultists in the area. According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the arrest of a suspected cultist, Samuel Nwokoma, led to the discovery of hidden arms in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt.

Nwokoma, a member of the notorious Blood Star cult group, was apprehended on March 17 following credible intelligence. He has been linked to several cult-related killings in the Diobu area, including the fatal shooting of Ede Sunday and George Johnson. The recovery of weapons such as AK-47 rifles, assault rifles, magazines, pistols, live ammunition, IEDs, and detonating devices highlights the command’s commitment to public safety.

Efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects connected to the cult-related attacks, and residents are urged to provide any useful information to aid in their arrest. This operation marks a significant step in addressing the recent wave of violence in the area, showcasing the command’s dedication to combating violent crimes and ensuring the safety of the community.
