The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Plateau State has apprehended seven individuals suspected of vandalizing railway tracks and slippers in the region. Commandant Alexander Barunde disclosed that the suspects were caught in Kwakwi community, Riyom Local Government Area, following a tip-off from community members.

The arrested individuals were found in possession of 60 pieces of railway tracks, 30 slippers, and other related materials, loaded onto two trucks en route to an undisclosed destination. Barunde stated that the suspects will face legal action once investigations are completed.

Among the detainees, Ahmed Mohammed claimed ignorance of the vandalism, asserting that they were simply hired to transport the items. This incident coincides with the state government’s efforts to revive rail mass transit in Jos and Bukuru.
