Tragic Electrocution of 15-Year-Old Girl in Olomore Housing Estate, Abeokuta

A tragic incident occurred in the Olomore Housing Estate area of Abeokuta, Ogun, where a 15-year-old girl named Miracle Ogbonna was electrocuted while fetching water. The spokesperson of the Police Command in the state, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that it happened on a Sunday.

The report indicated that the case of electrocution was reported to the Divisional Police Office by Onyekachi Silas from the Olomore Housing Estate. Silas narrated to the DPO that his younger brother called him on the phone around 11:50 p.m., informing him that Miracle Ogbonna, who was living with them, was electrocuted while fetching water from the well during a power outage. Tragically, she was electrocuted by a naked cable wire of the pumping machine inside the well.

Miracle was rushed to a private hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed her death. The police have commenced an investigation into the incident, and the girl’s body has been deposited at the Oke Lantoro morgue.
