Former Minister of Defence and Presidential candidate, Musa Kwankwaso, believes that the Nigerian military has the capability to address the current security challenges in the country, given the necessary support and motivation. Speaking after a meeting of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) National Executive Committee in Abuja, Kwankwaso emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and citizens in tackling security issues.
Having served as Minister of Defence and Chief Security Officer of Kano State, Kwankwaso highlighted the urgent need for a unified approach to security, stating that state-level security outfits are insufficient in the face of the current crisis. He stressed the vital role of the Nigerian military in restoring peace and security, urging all stakeholders to work together towards this common goal.
Reflecting on the impact of insecurity on rural communities, Kwankwaso expressed concern over the escalating violence and abduction of innocent civilians, particularly children. He underscored the urgency of the situation, calling for decisive action to protect vulnerable populations and restore a sense of safety and normalcy.
As the leader of NNPP, Kwankwaso outlined his party’s vision for addressing the security challenges and other pressing issues in Nigeria. He positioned NNPP as a beacon of hope for the Nigerian people, contrasting the perceived failures of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a time of uncertainty and unrest, Musa Kwankwaso and NNPP offer a compelling alternative, promising a fresh perspective and proactive solutions to the complex problems facing the nation. With a focus on unity, accountability, and effective governance, NNPP seeks to inspire confidence and trust among Nigerians, paving the way for a brighter future for all.
