Osun State Governor Urges IBEDC to Address Epileptic Power Supply

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is taking a stand against the ongoing issue of erratic power supply in the state. In a recent meeting with the managing director of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), Adeleke emphasized the importance of resolving the power challenges that have been plaguing the state.

Describing Osun as a key player in the Nigerian power sector, Governor Adeleke highlighted the detrimental impact of the inconsistent power supply on the local economy and businesses. He expressed his frustration with the current situation and stressed the need for immediate action to address the issue.

To tackle the problem head-on, Adeleke announced plans to establish a power sector regulatory agency in Osun State. This agency will work towards implementing off-grid options and expanding alternative energy sources to improve the overall power supply in the state.

In response to the governor’s call for collaboration, the Managing Director of IBEDC, Mr. Kingsley Achiefe, commended Adeleke for his proactive approach. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the state, attributing the power outages to a decrease in power generation. Currently, Osun State is only receiving a fraction of the electricity needed to meet the demands of its residents and businesses.

To address these issues effectively, Governor Adeleke has formed a committee comprising key officials and experts in the energy sector. This committee will work towards finding sustainable solutions to the power supply problem in Osun State.

Overall, Adeleke’s commitment to improving the power situation in Osun State is a step in the right direction. By prioritizing the needs of the people and taking concrete actions to address the challenges at hand, the governor is paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable future for the state.
