Burna Boy Claps Back at Brymo: “Chasing Clout with Yoruba Proverb Music”

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, has recently addressed comments made by fellow musician Brymo, who claimed to be a superior musician. Brymo asserted that he is the best vocalist on the continent and a superior songwriter compared to Burna Boy.

In response, Burna Boy dismissed Brymo’s claims as an attempt to gain attention, accusing him of singing “Yoruba proverb music” that is better suited for Fuji legends like K1 De Ultimate and Saheed Osupa.

Taking to his Instagram story, Burna Boy expressed his thoughts, stating, “At this point they do and say anything to get at the king. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us. When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”

This exchange highlights the competitive nature of the music industry and the ongoing quest for recognition and acclaim. It showcases the diversity and talent within the African music scene, with each artist bringing their unique style and perspective to the table.
