Sultan of Sokoto Declares Eid El Fitr for Wednesday April 10

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar, has officially declared the date for Eid-El-Fitr celebrations. According to a statement released by the Sultanate Council Sokoto, Tuesday has been confirmed as the 30th day of Ramadan, with Eid-El-Fitr to be celebrated on Wednesday. The announcement, made in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee, stated that no reports confirming the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal 1445AH were received on Monday. As a result, Wednesday, April 10, has been designated as the first day of Shawwal 1445AH, marking the beginning of Eid-El-Fitr festivities. In his message, the Sultan extended his warm wishes to the Nigerian Muslim community, praying for Allah’s guidance and blessings. He also encouraged Muslims to continue praying for peace, progress, and development in the country, while also sending his best wishes for a joyous Eid-El-Fitr celebration. Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar, follows Ramadan and signifies a period of new beginnings and spiritual rejuvenation. It offers a chance for individuals to maintain the positive habits cultivated during Ramadan and embark on a journey of self-improvement. As the month of Shawwal approaches, Muslims around the world prepare to celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection. Let us embrace this opportunity for spiritual growth and unity as we mark the end of Ramadan and the beginning of a new chapter.
