The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched an investigation into an alleged assault involving journalist Seun Falomo and personnel from the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency (OYSRTMA) by immigration officers. NIS Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, issued the order in a statement released by the Service Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, in Abuja.
According to reports, the incident took place in Ibadan, Oyo State, where OYSRTMA personnel reportedly apprehended a retired Assistant Comptroller of Immigration for violating traffic rules. The situation escalated when the individual’s son, who was driving the car, sustained a fractured leg during the altercation.
Nandap expressed regret over the incident and assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to uncover the truth. She emphasized the importance of professionalism and integrity in fulfilling the NIS’ responsibilities of border security and migration management.
