Nollywood Actor Seun Jimoh Slams EFCC for Scapegoating Celebrities in Naira Abuse Crackdown

Nollywood actor Seun Jimoh has raised concerns about the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) targeting celebrities in its crackdown on Naira abusers. He criticized the commission for singling out individuals like popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest and crossdresser Bobrisky for prosecution, while many others engage in the same behavior with impunity.

In a statement on his Instagram page, Jimoh questioned the fairness of targeting a few individuals for a crime that is widespread in Nigerian society. He highlighted the prevalence of videos showing people spraying money at events, yet only celebrities seem to face consequences for their actions.

Jimoh argued that this selective approach to law enforcement not only unfairly targets celebrities but also neglects the mental well-being of Nigerian citizens. He called for a more holistic and equitable approach to cultural reforms, rather than using high-profile individuals as scapegoats.

The actor’s comments have sparked a debate about the EFCC’s tactics and the broader issue of accountability in Nigerian society. As the conversation continues, it is clear that the treatment of celebrities in legal matters is a topic that resonates with many people.
