Confusion Surrounds President Tinubu’s Appearance as Guards Brigades Arrive at House of Representatives

Abuja, Nigeria – Despite conflicting statements from President Bola Tinubu’s media aides, the Guards Brigades have arrived at the House of Representatives in preparation for a joint session, creating anticipation and uncertainty regarding the President’s attendance.

At approximately 10:47 AM, the advance team of the Guards Brigades was seen arriving at the House of Representatives while the plenary session was ongoing. This development followed a series of contradictory statements issued by presidential aides Bayo Onanuga and Ajuri Ngelale regarding whether President Tinubu would attend the session.

In the Green Chamber, preparations for the joint session continued as the House moved a motion to admit “non-members” into the chamber. The motion, introduced by House Leader Julius Ihonvbere and seconded by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda, was passed to facilitate the inclusion of non-members in the session.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu announced that Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Senate President Godswill Akpabio were in a meeting concerning the planned joint session. This meeting further heightened the anticipation surrounding President Tinubu’s potential appearance.

While all indications suggest that the House is prepared for the joint session, uncertainty remains about whether President Tinubu will be in attendance. The conflicting statements from his aides have left many unsure of the President’s plans.

As the nation awaits clarity, the proceedings in the House of Representatives continue to be closely watched, with the possible attendance of President Tinubu being a focal point of interest.
