Kaduna State Judge’s Abducted Children Released After Fifteen Days

Kaduna – Suspected bandits have released the abducted children of a Kaduna State judge, Janet Galadima, fifteen days after their abduction, according to a report by LEADERSHIP. The Chairman of the Kaduna State branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Godwin Ochai, confirmed the release of the children on Tuesday.

On June 23, 2024, Janet Galadima and her sons were abducted from their residence in the Mahuta area of Kaduna. The tragic news of the abduction was followed by the death of the judge’s 14-year-old eldest son, Victor, who was killed by the bandits. The hoodlums had initially released Judge Galadima a few days after the abduction but kept her remaining children in captivity.

The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the sad news of Victor’s death, noting that despite the release of the remaining children, the family has been left with deep scars from the ordeal.

The release of the children brings a measure of relief to the Galadima family and the broader community, though the loss of young Victor remains a sombre reminder of the violence affecting the region.
