Lekki Ladies Flock to Gyms in Search of Rich Men, Not Fitness Goals

Gym Visits for Wealth, Not Wellness: Pastor Alleges

In a recent video shared on social media, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center, HICC, made some striking claims about the motivations behind women’s gym visits in Lekki, Lagos State. According to the pastor, most women do not go to the gym to lose weight, but rather to search for wealthy men.

In a now-trending video, Pastor Bolaji shared his observations from a conversation with a gym instructor, who revealed that many women ask about the financial and marital status of their male clients. The instructor reportedly told the pastor that many women are more interested in chatting and socializing at the gym than in working out.

"Go to the Admiralty, many girls that go to the gym, half of the time they are talking. So, when they finish, they will buy shawarma, and hotdog in the gym and eat. That was not the goal," the pastor said.

He also pointed out that the instructor would only be approached by women who were interested in men with luxurious vehicles, such as those with G-Wagons. The women would ask questions about their marital status, occupation, and schedules, indicating that their primary focus was on finding a wealthy partner.

This isn’t the first time Pastor Bolaji has spoken out on relationships and politics. In the past, he has criticized men for marrying women solely for financial reasons, labeling the practice as shameful.

The pastor’s recent comments have sparked a heated debate on social media, with some people agreeing with his assessment of the situation, while others have argued that his views are too simplistic and lack understanding of the complexities of human relationships.
