DeMar DeRozan Clarifies Friendship with Drake Amid “Not Like Us” Drama

DeMar DeRozan Insists Friendship with Drake is Still Intact After ‘Not Like Us’ Collab

DeMar DeRozan, the newly-signed Sacramento Kings player, has come forward to clarify his stance on his friendship with Drake, amid their collaboration on Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us”. In an interview with The Sacramento Bee, DeRozan reiterated that his bond with Drake remains unbroken, despite being involved in a high-profile production with another prominent rapper.

Speaking on the current state of their relationship, DeRozan emphasized that it’s still the same, stating, “Drake’s still my man, still my man, none of it changed… It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out.”

DeRozan further elaborated that his appearance on “Not Like Us” was a positive experience, bringing people together and showcasing the beauty of unity. The newly-signed Kings player also opened up about his special relationship with Kendrick Lamar, describing him as “basically family” and asserting that they’ll do anything for each other.

Recently, DeRozan joined K. Dot on stage at his Juneteenth concert, The Pop Out: Ken & Friends, where many of his peers C-walked and sang along to the highly-anticipated track. The event took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, with DeRozan performing the song six times.

Among the notable celebrity attendees were Rick Ross, James Harden, Chika, Kayla Nicole, LeBron and Savannah James, Chlöe, The Weeknd, Malcolm Mays, Russell Westbrook, and more. The surprise concert was divided into three acts, featuring a star-studded lineup of performers.

DeRozan’s comments should put to rest any speculation about his relationship with Drake, highlighting the importance of unity and friendships in the entertainment industry.
