Nigerian Army Recovers 238,500 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil
The 6 Division, Nigerian Army, has made a significant breakthrough in combating oil theft and illegal bunkering in the Niger Delta region. According to sources, the division has recovered about 238,500 litres of stolen crude oil from suspected oil thieves in Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the Nigerian military to clamp down on economic saboteurs. The recovered oil was seized from trucks and illegal refining sites in the respective states, with a total of five suspects being apprehended in the process who will soon be prosecuted.
One significant discovery was made in Bayelsa, where 110,000 litres of crude oil were stored in an oven and a massive metal reservoir at an illegal refining site along Dasaba Creek. Troops also intercepted a truck with registration number, UDH 983 XR on Elebele-Emeyal Road, Ogbia, carrying 30,000 litres of stolen crude oil.
Additionally, an illegal refining site was deactivated by troops at Cawthorne Channel 1, containing more than 5,500 litres of crude oil. A routine patrol in Mosogar, Delta, by 63 Brigade troops led to the discovery of 30,000 litres of crude oil smuggled from Seplat Energy Nigeria Limited.
In response to these recent discoveries, the Nigerian Army spokesman, Lt.-Col. Danjuma Danjuma, expressed gratitude to the public for their ongoing support and urged citizens to provide the security agencies with reliable intelligence to track down oil thieves and economic saboteurs.

The effort to combat oil theft and illegal bunkering is ongoing, and it appears that the Nigerian Army is leaving no stone unturned in their quest for justice.
