Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke Urges Traditional Rulers to Unite

In a significant statement, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on traditional rulers in the state to strengthen unity among themselves. The governor made this appeal during the coronation of his wife, Mrs Ngozi Adeleke, as the Erelu Soludero of Erinmo Ijesa.

Governor Adeleke praised the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, Oba Odunayo Ajayi, for bestowing the title upon his wife, describing it as a demonstration of affection and respect for his family. According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor commended his wife, stating that the title represents their government’s and the Adeleke family’s commitment to supporting the people of Osun State.

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke also highlighted the significance of royal institutions in state and communal development. He acknowledged the contributions of these institutions in challenging times, emphasizing that they provide essential counsel and moral support, which stabilize governance and promote good administration.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering the benefits of democracy and improving the lives of Osun residents, while urging traditional rulers to foster unity within their councils. He also stressed the need to avoid actions that lead to disunity and fragmentation, citing the growing signs of division as concerning and threatening the integrity of traditional institutions.

By fostering unity and cohesion among traditional rulers, Governor Adeleke believes that these leaders can enhance their ability to influence government policies, ultimately benefitting the people of Osun State.
