Federal Government Orders Assessment of Kano-Maiduguri Road After Flood

Federal Government Directed to Assess Damaged Road in Bauchi State Amidst Recent Flood

A recent flood in Bauchi state has rendered Section 111 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road inaccessible, prompting the Federal Government to take swift action. According to a statement from the Ministry of Works, a technical team from the ministry has been dispatched to assess the damage and provide emergency solutions to ease the suffering of the affected Malori-Guskuri community.

During a meeting with contractors, Minister of Works Dave Umahi emphasized the need for timely completion of projects funded by the tax credit scheme. The minister also revealed the termination of Section 1 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road contract with E Contractors due to time expiration, reiterating the importance of durability in road construction.

The assessment aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the damage and facilitate the implementation of urgent repairs to restore the road’s integrity. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to deliver quality infrastructure, alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, and restore confidence in the country’s road network.

As part of the ongoing works under the tax credit scheme, other projects are underway, including those being undertaken by prominent companies such as Dangote, BUA, and Mainstream Energy. Minister Umahi assured the public of the government’s commitment to quality infrastructure and urged patience as officials work towards a swift resolution.
