Zamfara State Government to Establish Football Academy to Revitalize Sports

The Zamfara State Government has announced plans to establish a Football Academy to revitalize sports in the state. According to Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Tasi’u Musa, the academy is part of the government’s “Rescue Mission” aimed at boosting the state’s economy and providing opportunities for talented football players.

The academy will serve as a significant booster to the state’s economy, providing a platform for select talented players to develop their skills and potentially secure contracts with foreign football clubs. The initiative is expected to stimulate sports activities and encourage youth to develop their traditional potentialities in the sports sector.

The commissioner explained that the ministry has set up a committee to work out modalities for reviving abandoned traditional sports like Langa, Dambe, and Kokawa. This move is aimed at promoting sports activities and encouraging young people to develop their skills in these areas.

Mr. Musa appealed to the people of the state to continue supporting government policies and programs aimed at achieving the “Rescue Mission” of the governor. He emphasized the importance of working together to achieve the goals of the initiative.

The establishment of the Football Academy is a positive step towards revitalizing sports in Zamfara State and providing opportunities for young people to develop their skills and pursue their passions. The academy is expected to have a significant impact on the state’s economy and society, and the government’s commitment to supporting the initiative is a welcome move.
