Echono commended the Armed Forces for their selfless services to the nation, noting that the military has been a vital supporter of educational institutions in Nigeria, making significant sacrifices in challenging environments and conflict zones.

Echono also lauded the army for checkmating incidences of militant attacks and kidnapping within institutions of higher learning, saying that the military establishment has been “so supportive of our educational institutions, and we thank you for your service to our country.”

The TETFund Executive Secretary also expressed gratitude for the Fund’s support to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Army University, Biu, and other Army institutions, stating that it has significantly enhanced their capacity and ability to achieve more.

In the area of research and development, Echono said the fund would strengthen its collaboration on research into security services and development of defence industries. The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, assured that the Armed Forces would continue its unwavering support to educational developments in the country. He also highlighted the potential benefits of the restrictions on importation of certain caliber of arms and ammunition into the country, saying it would make Nigeria a major hub of arms production, save foreign currency, and generate employment.

The visit aimed to foster stronger ties between TETFund and the Nigerian Army, ensuring continued support for educational institutions and promoting national development.
