Ruggedman Reveals He Was First Nigerian Artiste to Own a Car

Ruggedman Claims He Was the First Young Nigerian Artist to Own a Car

In a recent interview with Echo Room, veteran rapper Michael Ugochukwu Steven, known professionally as Ruggedman, made a bold claim – that he was the first young Nigerian artist to own a car. The rap legend stated that he purchased his BMW for N900,000 in 2004, long before Afrobeats megastars like P-Square and D’banj got behind the wheel.

Ruggedman’s statement comes as a surprise, as many music fans might assume that P-Square and D’banj were among the first Nigerian artists to own cars. However, the veteran rapper insists that he was a trailblazer in this regard, purchasing his vehicle before his contemporaries.

When asked about the cars owned by other artists at the time, Ruggedman revealed that those signed to Kennis Music only had access to company cars, which were provided for official use. He also mentioned that Tuface shared a car with his labelmates.

Ruggedman’s claim didn’t stop at car ownership, as he also stated that he was the first young artist to print posters and calendars back in the day. His contributions to the music industry, particularly in the early 2000s, have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the Nigerian music scene.

With his latest claim, Ruggedman is stirring up conversations about his achievements and contributions to the music industry. Fans and music enthusiasts alike are curious to learn more about his experiences and the history of the Nigerian music scene.

It remains to be seen whether Ruggedman’s claims will be verified, but one thing is certain – the veteran rapper’s legacy continues to be felt in the music industry.
