Flavour N’abania Recounts Humbling Experience with P-Square
In a recent interview on the “In My Opinion” podcast, Nigerian high-life crooner Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour N’abania, shared a fascinating story about his early days in the music industry. The musician revealed that he was once asked to leave the stage so that P-Square could perform.
According to Flavour, his music career began as a choir conductor and drummer in the church. However, it was his encounter with P-Square that became a turning point in his career. He recalled a particular day when P-Square, fresh from the release of their hit single “Temptation,” arrived at City Centre in Enugu, where he was performing.
“I had already built a fan base at that spot,” Flavour said. “Everybody would come every weekend, no matter what was going on in Enugu. My spot was always packed.” Suddenly, the promoters brought P-Square on stage, and the manager instructed Flavour to “switch off” and leave.
Flavour obliged, handing over the microphone to Paul of P-Square, who simply said, “This na temptation,” causing the crowd to go wild. The incident left a lasting impression on Flavour, who has since gone on to build a successful music career.
