Rudeboy Speaks Out: Nigerian Music Star Questions Why He and His Brothers Can’t Be Family Despite Personal Differences
Famous Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy of the P-Square music group, has expressed his disappointment and sadness over the ongoing feud between him and his brothers, Peter and Jude Okoye. In an Instagram live session on Monday, August 19, 2024, Rudeboy questioned why they can’t come together as family members despite not being in business together.
The crisis surrounding the P-Square music group began earlier this year when Paul accused Peter of petitioning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest him. Peter denied the allegations, instead focusing on uncovering the truth behind a secret company, Northside Music, allegedly owned by their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma.
Jude Okoye denied the allegations made by Peter, saying that he had not diverted P-Square’s royalties worth millions of dollars into a private account. The case between the brothers is still under investigation by the EFCC.
Rudeboy’s emotional appeal for familial unity came during his recent Instagram live session, where he said, “Even if we don’t do P-Square, can’t we be brothers? Even if we can’t do music, can’t we be brothers?” He added, “Like I said, I don’t want to talk much. I don’t used to talk before. It’s so unfortunate.”
It remains to be seen whether Rudeboy’s words will prompt a reconciliation between the Okoye brothers. However, one thing is clear – the ongoing feud has left many fans and family members disheartened by the lack of resolution and the apparent inability of the brothers to put aside their differences and maintain a positive relationship.
